Akaska Ride 2011: don't worry

First , let me get something out of the way, and this is aimed at my English profs out there. I have not fell  into my old ways as far as grammar , punctuation and spelling. Your hard work has not been in vain! I will clean up these posts as time allows. But time is of the essence, and I am very slow at proofing.

That said, today's blog title comes from the bible, the book of Matthew. I woke up at 5AM without the alarm. The sun, which never really sets at this latitude , was clear and bright. And immediately a thought assailed me:what if the knobby tires don't hold up for the return trip? I have tried to plan for big contingencies this ride, having tires of my choosing waiting in Fairbanks stands out. But, you can't cover everything. Much is done on the fly, such as my change to the Toad River campground, as opposed to Liard Hot Springs yesterday. Toad river by the way, is a wonderful place, and I highly recommend it! $18 for a very nice site; $15 for a buffalo burger meal, and $4.50 for the cinnamon roll and coffee I'm now enjoying. These are great prices on the Alaska Highway!

But back to my title. THE advantage of cutting my pace has been the luxury of talking to people, but most importantly, talking to God. My  being on Standard time has me up at the quite hour, with time to reflect , pray and do a bit of Bible reading. Today, as I stewed over the rubber situation, Christ's words leaped off the page; don't worry. And I won't!

On to Whitehorse. Stay tuned.
